2014. A hell of a year and still kicking for the next few weeks. And with that being said and the year amongst us is counting down to the new; Shazam has compiled its list of most “Shazamed” tracks and artists of the year.

In the ever growing dance music market, the genre reigns supreme in many faucets. It’s introduction into movie trailers, advertisements and being implemented by big name artists in the Pop music game has taken EDM to incredible heights and can now be found in every turn you take. Now contrary to you grandparents and those un-hip parents – EDM is not produced by the likes of old dial up modems and fax machines. It comes as no surprise the number of times the genre has been Shazamed.

Worldwide, dance music artists Avicii and David Guetta were shazamed the most before Ed Sheeran at number three. Now when you narrow the scope to the U.S alone, it still seems that Pop music is the national favorite. With John Legend and Katy Perry in the number one and two slots, the first dance music act doesn’t chart until number seven – which goes to Disclosure. But flipping the tables to most Shazamed track of 2014, yes Pop music still dominates the charts but there is a little EDM in the mix (Disclosure “Latch” with Sam Smith), which I don’t know if you really can count as “dance music”, but at number two between “All Of Me” by John Legend and Magic! “Rude” – there is a little Dance music charting within the U.S, but unfortunately you can’t say the same for Worldwide Shazamed tracks.

Electronic Dance Music is in its prime after years of renowned success, and with a whole lot of momentum to keep pushing it up and onward – EDM is on fire and here to stay and place higher and more frequently this time next year via Shazam. Check out the full list of most Shazamed artists and songs in the U.S and worldwide plus more insight on 2014 Shazamed tracks and 2015 predictions.
