Just in time for Thanksgiving, G Jones has teamed up with The Widdler for a three-track EP entitled Diamonds. Each artist produced a song for the collection, with the third being a collaborative track. The result is a full helping of bass goodness. The whole package is available as a free download (but you can choose your price if you want to support the artists).
“Diamonds on My Neck” is the duo’s joint effort. It brings The Widdler’s slow, dark wobbles and blends with G Jones’ distorted bass, resulting in maximum (awesome) weirdness.
G Jones goes all out for his solo venture on Diamonds. “Voltage Spike” is heavy, trippy bass over speedy high hats. This is the track you’re listening to while dodging asteroids in space.
The Widdler closes out the EP with “Tricks.” The tune is a fresh, eerie take on glitch hop. The production is clean, but the sound is all grime.
