Nicky Romero Tries His Hand At A Movie Soundtrack

We’ve seen artists such as Zedd and Skrillex being tapped for film scores/soundtracks, but now we can add another name to the list: Nicky Romero (or rather, Nick Rotteveel).

Nicky tweeted out a private SoundCloud upload of his take on the famous main theme from “Requiem For A Dream” under his real name, with the simple message “Made my first movie soundtrack today”:

Of course, this isn’t the first time Nicky has been inspired to write with stringed instruments such as violin and cello; his 2013 track “Symphonica” was the first taste of orchestral work by Nicky. However, seeing him step out of the realm of electronic music and arrange an orchestral interpretation is an interesting move, one that not many other top DJs have done.

What do you think? Would you like to hear more works by Nick Rotteveel?
