Will Sparks Continues Legacy With “Bourne” [Ultra Records]

Will Sparks

In a recent interview with Your EDMWill Sparks revealed that he’s more than just a king of Melbourne Bounce; and in fact has a few tracks in development outside the genre. While he has found his niche, Sparks has also found success producing big room, progressive house, and even psy-trance tracks. But that doesn’t mean he’s completely switching styles, as his latest track “Bourne” still falls in line with the Australian-born genre that’s picked up some serious momentum in the US over the past year.

“Bourne” is just as lively and energetic as other tunes from Will Sparks, and the intricate breakdown suggests that it will be an instant hit in his sets back home at Stereosonic this month. Thousands of fans will be eager to clap and cheer along with the build up while singing along to a memorable chord progression, but the drop is really what drives this bounce record forth. Characteristic basslines and signature sound design maintain Sparks’ style in what is just another hit to add to his extensive resume.

This release caps off an incredible year for Will Sparks, who has brought Melbourne Bounce to the forefront of dance music through aggressive US touring. He recently completed a nationwide Bounce Bus Tour with fellow countrymen Joel Fletcher and Timmy Trumpet, who will also be joining him on this month’s Stereosonic Tour across Australia. Before that, he spent his summer on the bill for multiple festivals including: Made in America, Nocturnal Wonderland, Arrivals Festival and many others. But his most successful move on behalf of the Melbourne Bounce movement could arguably be his collaboration with Uberjak’d; “Hard Nation” was a staple in sets over the summer from artists all across the dance music spectrum, proving that the genre is not only thriving, but also has a bright future in the US. Like many others, Will plans to take a lengthy holiday break after Stereosonic to head home, relax, and prepare for another exciting year ahead.

Not only can you listen to “Bourne” now on Soundcloud, courtesy of Ultra Records, but you can also buy it here: Beatport.
