To be completely honest, I’m always a little cautious when I play something that is related to Spinnin’ Records. However, Oxygen, a subset of the label, has released a track called “Control” by Summer School and it is an absolute gem. Despite the name, it makes you want to get out of control, but not in a wild and crazy, ruthless manner; it’s more of a constructive liberation that most definitely will result in dancing. There are a lot of progressive tunes that try to have that uplifting vibe, but this electro tune pulls it off in a much more appealing way, at least to me. I find it funny because when I was contacted regarding this song, the person essentially said “this is not your style, but if you could pass it along.” To their enjoyment and mine, I fell in love. This is good house music.
