Four Dutchmen. Two DJ duos. One amazing track. That’s just one of the ways to describe “I Can’t Understand,” the latest collaboration between Firebeatz and Chocolate Puma. You have to go back exactly 10 months to the last time these two acts teamed up. January’s “Sausage Fest” is completely different from their latest single – a harder track with a breakdown that feels more like an instrumental rock song than a dance record. “I Can’t Understand” in comparison is a house anthem; quick piano chords, a memorable lyric, and a relentless bass line sure to get people grooving.
For Chocolate Puma, “I Can’t Understand” is business as usual. The duo have been praised for their signature brand of housier tracks, especially with the sudden boom of deep house in 2014. For Firebeatz, this is another reminder that they’re not just the electro powerhouses we know them to be. This year they’ve taken on many different styles of music, from August’s “No Heroes” with KSHMR ft. Luciana, to a massive remix of “Calabria” with Rune RK, and many more.
For both duos, “I Can’t Understand” is the latest release in a long year of well produced tracks. Expect to hear this one to pop up in sets from Laidback Luke, Oliver Heldens, and plenty other artists in the near future.
“I Can’t Understand” is out on Spinnin’ Records and is available exclusively on Beatport today.
