Punk rock has collaged street posters. Jam bands have psychedelic pre-show fliers. EDM is still in the process of defining its own visually artistic reputation. We may have the lasers on lock, but the canvasses are still dry as far as as defining our role in fine art. Regardless, the Peruvian artist Le’Roy is ready to lead the charge in EDM inspired art with his campaign of painting twenty-two of the world’s best DJs which have taken the internet by storm. In an interview with Do Androids Dance, he proclaimed:
“I want to make a huge expo about EDM artwork. I’ll paint 22 of the best DJs from DJ Mag‘s rankings, the ones who get talked about the most in the press, and the ones I knew who were the best electro house and big room that I like.”
