Every so often, you hear a track that makes you sit on the edge of your seat… it comes out of nowhere, from a producer you’ve never heard of, and sounds like they’ve been training in front of a crowd of 50,000 for years. The depth of sound and quality of production are so enormously outside the scope of expectations that you’re left slack-jawed and wide-eyed. Trying to comprehend the gap in expectation and reality will likely leave you grasping at straws.
I think I found this track from Krale on Reddit, I’m not sure. I’ve had the tab open for a couple of days, just sitting there, and I finally today decided to just try it out. Imagine my surprise when it was one of the most engaging and spectacular tracks I’ve heard this year. The cinematic qualities, akin to Danzfolk, paint such a vivid picture through the discordant synths and harmonic vocals. Choosing to have male and female vocalists, Jasmina Lin and Jay Christopher, turned out to be such a great decision, considering how their voices play off of each other. And the way the track just “falls” into the drop is one of my favorite effects.
