Carnage, Erick Morillo, & Harry Romero - Let The Freak Out (feat. Mr. V)

One of the biggest labels of house music is making a comeback ever since they stopped with their hot releases late last year. Subliminal Records has been around since 1997 and was started by dance music titan Erick Morillo. For years, the label has featured some of the greatest house anthems from artists like Eddie Thoneick, Jose Nuñez, Robbie Rivera, Denis The Menace, while hosting one-time appearances from names like Basement JaxxJohn Dahlbäck, Tommy Trash, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Promise Land, and more. To bring back this massive label, Erick is releasing his latest original on both his label and Ultra and teams up with long-time collaborator Harry Romero, vocalist Mr. V, and trap/big-room expert Carnage.

The story of this tune is that this was originally an unfinished song between Erick and Harry from years before, as evident to the ear when anyone clicks play. After being introduced through a mutual friend, Carnage met Erick and heard the incomplete collaboration. Inspired, Carnage asked for the stems and a new tech house song was born. When you start listening to “Let The Freak Out”, one can immediately sense the groovy 90’s vibes while having difficulties spotting what Carnage did to this tune. Let’s be honest, this sounds like nothing Carnage has ever made before and might be far from the comfort-level of most of his fans. However, if fans listen to this song with accepting ears, then they will love it and open a door of house music aside from the mainstream material.
