Steve Angello is pulling himself out of Columbia Records, which called for the producer to buy out of his contract with them. It appears Steve Angello was disappointed in the performance of Columbia in fulfilling his needs of promotion on “Wasted Love”. This is probably a smart move on his part as having it on his own label, or another indie label, gives him much more control and freedom moving forward. Regardless of what label the album does come out on, the project is supposed to be released this fall. One aspect that complicates things is the fact that the lead single was already released through the label. However, no matter the situation, it is nice to see a big name producer sticking it to a major label, because how often does that really happen?
