Soon joining the likes of Avicii and Tiesto on main stages around the world will be Zac Efron, the actor turned DJ! No we’re joking. Zac Efron is currently starring as the main character in the upcoming movie “We Are Your Friends” directed by Max Joseph and set for a 2015 release. The story focuses on Cole Carter, played by Zac Efron, a young DJ who is working on “the one track that will set the world on fire.” Part of his role involves DJing in front of fans and for that reason Zac is employing the help of famous producers and DJs like Alesso and Dillon Francis to teach him the ropes in the art of mixing. Here is the synopsis for the movie:
“It’s set in the worlds of electronic music and the Hollywood nightlife, where an aspiring 23-year-old DJ named Cole spends his days scheming with his childhood friends and his nights working on the one track that will set the world on fire.
All of this changes when he meets a charismatic but damaged older DJ named James who takes him under his wing. Things get complicated, however, when Cole starts falling for James’ much younger girlfriend, Sophie. With Cole’s forbidden relationship intensifying and his friendships unraveling, he must choose between love, loyalty, and the future he ‘We Are Your Friends’ is expected to make its debut on the big screen in 2015, so in the meantime, those interested can check out some behind-the-scenes footage for the movie.”
