Dabin – Bloodless LP [Kannibalen Records]

Dabin-Bloodless-Ep-Art

Basically all of Dabin’s new project Bloodless, out today, has been available for some time thanks to exclusive premieres from EDM.com and other networks; but, if for some reason you haven’t listened to any of it before now, you’re in for a real treat. Even though Bloodless contains just four original tracks, you could almost call it a full LP for the variety and talent on this incredible release. Remixes from Kai WachiFeintSpag Heddy and Konec add a great deal of diversity to the sounds on the album and expand its reach.

My favorite of the original tracks has most definitely got to be ‘You’ with Kai Wachi. The way it balances flighty synths and vocals with a downright nasty bassline, you can’t tell if it’s more like Seven Lions or Excision. The variety and layering in that track alone should demonstrate the versatility that Dabin can call forth. Aside from that track, all other three originals make excellent use of female vocalists: Anna YvetteJill Harris, and Sarah Lee (not the bread).

My favorite of the remixes, as much as I love DnB, has got to be from Spag Heddy. Call me a dubstep sucker, I don’t care. Spag Heddy has a signature sound that I love, but in combination with the stems from Dabin’s production and Anna Yvette’s vocals, he had the perfect canvas on which to work his magic.

Of course, every track and remix on the EP can hold its own, I’m only pointing out the ones I enjoyed most. You can pick up Bloodless on iTunes and Beatport.
