When Zed’s Dead and Hunter Siegel released “Loud” a few months ago, they were on the cusp of red-lining the sound barrier, and just when we thought that was the tolerable limit, Dubsef had to come along and take the track to sonic boom status.
His hybrid trap approach introduces a distinct rowdiness that piles on the 808s and gives a nice foundation for the growls and wubs to bombard your brain like a fat kid in a game of dodgeball. To keep the track as hard as possible he splits the elements of the drops between mid-bass and another for a lasered drop. This maintains the hip hop feel of the track while allowing enough room for the mid-bass to hit when needed.
