I am really loving this resurgence of classics mixed with EDM, courtesy of so many artists like Orphic and in this case, Spark Arrester. Taking inspiration from the massively popular band Electric Light Orchestra, who were most active during the 70s and 80s, this track is morphed into a groovy glitch experience.
The opening synths and guitar riffs give the remix an almost tropical feel, but it quickly pulls back the curtains and comes out as a rock-infused classical/glitch medley that has strong sound design and some really dark notes as well as uplifting ones. It’s a strong remix and it’s something I’d like to see more of. I’m a huge fan of rock in general and seeing it incorporated more into EDM would make my festival experiences a lot more enjoyable, I think.
