Hard Summer, the two day festival that took place in South El Monte, has just come to a close after a rather successful takeover of the Whittier Narrows Recreational Park. With a diverse range of acts, from JACK U to Axwell and without forgetting Hard’s very own Desctructo, the 2014 installment of the famous Los Angeles festival went down without a problem…almost. It has now just been released that over 100 people have been arrested at this year’s event. According to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department Parks Bureau, out of the 38,952 people who attended the event on Saturday, 67 were arrested, 7 for felonies and 60 for misdemeanors. On Sunday, things were a bit calmer as 47 people were arrested, 38 of which were for alcohol-related offenses. Thankfully, no grave injuries were reported and it appears that other than some rain the festival finished without a hitch.

Security is getting tight these days. 2 weeks ago they just patted me down and let me in,. This Saturday they shook the shit out of my jeans and shirt. I also saw TONS of underage kids trying to use fake IDs. Lots of crying 16 year olds with no way to get home. Womp Womp.
Glad there was no sensationalism behind this report. If you do something illegal and get caught the out come should be an arrest. It was just the cops doing their job. While it was insane how many cops were there and in full riot gear, it was that or have thousands of people jumping the fences among other things that will endanger the attendees.
100/39,952 sound like very good odds to me.
