From the Will Ferrel film “I’m In Love With A DJ,” to Calvin Harris‘ HBO comedy series “Higher,” there has been no shortage of Hollywood producers trying to cash in on the EDM trend. The latest club ready beat to hit tinsletown comes from the feature film, “We Are Your Friends,” a drama starring Zac Efron and model Emily Ratajkowski. The story will follow an aspiring DJ in LA as he falls for an older DJ’s girlfriend and must choose between his heart, his passion, and his friends. The script has been called, “a Saturday Night Fever-like story in EDM.” The film will begin shooting on August 18th in the San Fernando Valley.
Aside from the starring roles and a few production members, not much is known about “We Are Your Friends,” although word around the playground is, if you can guess which song will be the featured highlight of the movie, than you win a supporting role in the film. Hint: the title might be justified.
