In terms of overrated, played-out, upscale clubs, Spain’s Ibiza definitely takes the cake. Even as a young raver, I heard of the majesty that was Ibiza, the “mecca of EDM.” But it seems that in recent years, some things have changed.
Steve Angello, Afrojack, and Paul Oakenfold, among others, have come forward, voicing their disapproval of the club’s current system gauging attendees for everything they’ve got. These days it seems the shows are basically all about star credit, bragging about who you’ve seen and how much you spent on drinks. According to BBC, a ticket starts at “75 euros” ($100) and a drink will cost you about “15 euros,” nearly $20. I don’t know about you, but no drink is worth that much. 
The average package holiday, for one week, will cost £500 ($841), but it’s what you spend when you are there that can sting.
Entry to the top five clubs can cost you up to 70 euros (£55) and drinks can start at 15 euros (£11.90).
There are two sides to the problem, however, and it’s not just the club’s fault. “…DJs have become the main attraction over the past five years. They are now the rock stars.” And when that happens, there is going to be an inevitable shift in the way you operate as a business. After the point of growing your skills and playing at various festivals, you become more than just a turntablist or DJ, you become associated with a brand. The top ten DJs are earning over $10m yearly, and that’s not just from touring and record sales. They also have merchandising, and many have their own labels as well.
Getting back to Ibiza, Paul Oakenfold might say it best, “If you go and see Manchester United and it is full of stars, and every season you want your club to buy the best players, then you’ve got to pay the ticket to go and see them.”

$20 dllr drinks sounds crazy…..but at Wet Republic during EDC the waters were $20 dllrs and the drinks with the souvenir cup were $42…. ‘____’
So how is this different than Las Vegas night clubs which are double these prices?

It is not, it is very obvious that none of the people here do some business with the clubs/cafes/etc.
The reason of price being 3x is, these clubs can not work in the other seasons except summer. So if you would go to Ibiza in February, then in November, the prices would go down because they would be earning stable income.
Yet, no one goes to Ibiza in random months other than summer, so they have to get whatever they can in these 3-4 months and then get prepared for the next season. You can go to Ibiza in February and live like a king because there is nearly ZERO demand to Ibiza in February.
Instead of these DJ’s whining about the drink prices, they should lower their own performance prices, that’s the only way drinks will become cheaper.
