A while back, HELENA released one of the year’s most euphoric electro anthems in the form of ‘Levity’ ft. Shawnee Taylor. Now it has been repackaged in the form of a new remix EP, with four contributing producers.
Giving each featured artist the chance to display their creativity, HELENA selected Maarcos, Fareoh, Merk & Kremont and a remix competition winner to rework the original, and the result is a wonderfully balanced collection of tracks. Young New York producer Fareoh takes the softly atmospheric piano intro and develops it to a thrilling climax, whilst Maarcos takes things to a darker level with a tech-inspired, rhythmically dominant rework. Merk & Kremont’s bouncing, synth-heavy remix gets our seal of approval, which certainly captures all the energy of the original.
Taking ‘Levity’ to the next level, this EP stands to emphasise the quality of production of the tune, whilst giving rising talents the chance to stamp their individuality on it. Pick yourself up a copy there.
