Deadmau5 has been quite vocal about his particular distaste for the DJ Mag Top 100. Just last year Joel took to twitter to express his “gratitude” towards his fans for making the list: “HOORAAY!!!! IM THE 12th BEST CD PLAYER IN THE WORLD!!. suck it! id like to thank the committee. my fans, all that shit. etc etc.” This year being no different, deadmau5 decided to finally share his picks for the 2014 installment. Now if you were expecting some big room artists or some underground techno DJ, then you must not know deadmau5 very well. In other news, deadmau5 also shared with the world “Carbon Cookie”, a track that was supposed to poke fun at EDM and big room and was apparently made in 30 minutes according to mau5 man himself. But even in 30 minutes, Joel managed to create something that sounded better than half of what’s on the Beatport top 10 today. If you haven’t heard it yet here it is below:
