Varien is back once again with another outstanding track. In fact, Varien has been releasing many tracks lately that manage to stand out amidst a sea of mediocrity and cookie cutter drivel, this one included.
After becoming the inaugural producer of our Your EDM Mix series, and releases including Amethyst, Moonlight, and Valkyrie, ‘Gunmetal Black’ should prove to be more successful than all the rest. It still has a very accessible dubstep sound, but with the clear Japanese/East Asian influences it broadens its reach to so many different regions and interests. The use of horns, strings and bass mingling together is nothing short of awe-inspiring.
