Bad Weather Washes Away Final Night of Hudson Project

Hudson Project

There may not have been a hurricane or a tornado, but there was certainly bad weather plaguing parts of the East coast this weekend. In regards to the state of New York, the weather was bad enough that it called for the cancellation of the third and final night of Hudson Project. Ulster County made a recommendation to event management, which was also backed by information from the National Weather Service and the night’s performances were subsequently washed away.

It’s hard to cancel sets; it’s even harder to cancel them after the event has already had two days of festivities going on. Event staff are warning people about the weather, while also telling them they need to leave the venue as soon as possible. One thing they are not advocating is an unsafe exit, as some people are not sober enough to leave. Any of those people are urged to stay in their cars or to find shelter until they are well enough to travel.

Based on the recommendation from Ulster County and information from the National Weather Service concerning approaching storms in conjunction with the previous afternoon inclement weather, we have decided to cancel this evening’s performances.

This is a decision that we don’t take lightly, but our first priority is always the safety of our patrons, artists, and staff. We regret having to cancel any show, but safety always comes first.

Please return to your camp sites to pack up and depart the property as quickly as possible. You do not need to leave if you are not sober, we are not asking anyone to drive drunk. If you are unable to leave the venue for any reason, please stay in your vehicles until the storm passes or you can depart safely. Those who are not in the condition to drive may stay the night to sober up. We do not recommend driving if you are under the influence at all. Thanks for your cooperation.

Thank you all for an unforgettable weekend, we can’t wait to do it all again next year. Stay tuned for more information in the coming days.
IMPORTANT: If you are unable to leave the venue for any reason, please stay in your vehicles until the storm passes or you can depart safely. Those who are not in the condition to drive may stay the night to sober up. We do not recommend driving if you are under the influence at all. Thanks for your cooperation.
