A British judge has granted a DJ allegedly involved in an insurance scam permission to fly out to Ibiza in July to perform a set.
House DJ James Parker is accused of being part of a 2.5-year scam that defrauded insurance brokers Marsh Ltd of just under $1.3 million through false invoices. 
After being shown a flyer for Parker’s set at Ibiza’s Es Paradis club, the Old Bailey judge Nicolas Cooke QC was skeptical, commenting: “In my experience, the fact a DJ’s name appears on the flyers does not mean as huge amount.” But upon hearing that Parker’s bail conditions changed twice already, the judge allowed the DJ to go to Ibiza while awaiting his trial set for January. The judge also confessed that he, too, had “been behind the wheels of steel.” A walesinlondon.com profile of the judge lists “music of Black America 1959-1973” as one of his hobbies.
