This week saw many big releases from a variety of artists including Zeds Dead, Ummet Ozcan, and Clans with their new Artifacts EP. However, one release that has become the subject of many conversations in the electronic dance music community comes from the legendary David Guetta.
Many who have heard his latest single “Lovers On The Sun” may have noticed a style that has only been seen on one other Guetta track many fans remember as “Sunshine” in collaboration with Swedish superstar Avicii. It turns out that Tim Bergling (along with Frederic Riesterer and Giorgio Tuinfort) are in the production credits of the new David Guetta song. After listening to this new music, it is no surprise to see Avicii’s touch on this progressive house anthem.
This song is very much like his previous single “Shot Me Down” with Skylar Grey, without being big room house. It utilizes a very Wild, Wild West atmosphere with initial acoustic guitar riffs that are followed by American singer Sam Martin‘s perfectly fitting voice. Then the song takes a turn in a very different direction with a very synth-heavy melody guiding this song into an Avicii-style drop. The best way to describe this song is to describe the hypothetical fusion between The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly and (virtually) any drop made by Avicii in his True album.
Along with the new single, David Guetta has tagged along his other recent tracks including “Shot Me Down”, “Blast Off” with Kaz James, and “Bad” with Showtek and Vassy. The new Lovers On The Sun EP is now available on iTunes or stream the teaser of David’s latest single below off of SoundCloud.
