We are big fans of bass fiend MUST DIE! His creativity and unique traits as both a producer and a DJ make him hugely popular with fans and fellow heads in the scene. Constantly providing a stream of new material, MUST DIE! features no less than four times on the just released Never Say Die UKF Vol.3 compilation. Providing remixes for the likes of Bro Safari and Hyper Crush alongside two exclusive tracks, his presence is clearly an exciting one on the label. News has also recently broken that he will be releasing a hotly anticipated debut EP between NSD and OWSLA later in the year. We caught up with the US prodigy to talk more about his musical creation.
You have two tracks on the NSD compilation. One features Mantis, how did you find working with them?
I’ve known them forever and they’re some of my closest friends, so it was a blast (as always) to work with them. 
You’ve asked before whether your fans have ever dreamt a song idea. Have you? How has it gone making it a reality?
The only song I ever made that sort of possibly came from a dream was ‘Fever Dream Pt. 1.’ But I wrote it just like any other song (lost my mind, sat alone in the dark) , so there’s not really a cool story to go with it!
Your other tune on the compilation is a solo track. What vibe do you like to hit in your production?
It varies. Most of the time I go for a melancholy, surreal, feverish sound. For ‘Feline’, I just wanted to make something really, really loud, obnoxious and ear piercing. Inner twinge of masochism? Who knows…
You’ve been with NSD less than a year. How do you find working on the imprint?
It’s great! Everyone is so unique and we are all a bit off-kilter so to quote Lewis Carroll: “Mad Matter: “Have I gone mad?” Alice: “I’m afraid so. You’re entirely bonkers. But I’ll tell you a secret. All the best people are.”
What are your goals for the upcoming LP? What would be your next project?
To finish and release it! To hopefully show my fan base that I’m more than one style of music, if not anything BUT one style of music. After that… I don’t know. We will all find out together.
Where would you like to be in the future as an artist? Any dream collaborations?
I can’t predict the future, so I’d rather just play everything by ear and see where we all end up. I’m content being wherever it is that I SHOULD be and doing my best. Anything past that is pointless and stressful. As for dream collaborations, that’s easy. JoJo, Shania Twain, Perfume, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Yasutaka Nakata, my dog.
