Your EDM’s Collection Conspectus Chapter #17

Conspectus

Danny Darko and Jova Radevska make quite the pair together. Having teamed up for “Butterfly,” they created a heart-warming deep house record. The slow jam is relaxing, yet your going to find yourself dancing through the four minute run time. He started off last week with a superb production; this week he’s back to get things going again. Who knows, maybe he’ll be here again next Friday!

Now that you are fresh and clean from that song, Gawtbass has you covered, in filth that is. Good old hybrid trap filth is what you get from “Fifth Dimension,” along with a chance for dirty underwear. The producer shows yet again why he is one of the best in the game, putting out nothing but quality productions that can’t seem to be matched by too many people out there. If you’re just getting introduced to him, prepare yourself.

If you like progressive house, you’re going to enjoy the next two songs. PenThoX takes things the chill route with his remix of “Sunburst” by Tobu & Itro. The Swede gets the vibes flowing with sweet melodies that are nothing but bright and sprightly. Unless I just can’t recall, I haven’t heard someone take the mainstage anthemic style of progressive and drop things down a bit. I am very much enjoying what PenThox did with this one. And the piano, ugh!!!

Ashton Love takes things a different progressive route that’s more towards the mainstage style I referenced previously. “Paris” is a super energetic tune boasting a riveting bassline, as well as lambent synths that fill out the rest of the spectrum. I’ve never been to Paris, but if it’s this poppin’, then get me a plane ticket quick. Ashton is not someone’s name I was familiar with prior to hearing this song, but it’s sure stuck in my brain now.

Let’s circle back and end things with some deep house. Thanks to “At Night” by Scissors we can totally do that and wrap things up nicely. The intro’s minimal nature creates an ominous feel, where you are left waiting for something to happen. When the vocal comes in, the relief settles and you are whisked away to endure one of the catchiest melodies of recent times, at least to me. You can be sure I’ll have this on repeat while I travel later today. I have a feeling you will too, whether you are traveling or not!
