Bro Safari and UFO! are no strangers to hitting the studio together, i.e. on the massively successful Animal LP (free download here), and to further set themselves apart they tried something new by soliciting lesser-known producers to join them in the creation of an original. Bro Safari explains, “This is the first in what hopefully becomes a lengthy string of collaborations between myself, UFO! and other artists. We plan on releasing them as we complete them. As of now, we have about 4 or 5 more in the works.”
The first in the series is a collaboration with the Spanish duo Beauty Brain called “No Control.” This wonky tune features some wild time stretching and some very expressive sampling that keeps the ear constantly bouncing around to piece everything together. Collectively, the track is held down by pounding kicks and snares that leave that lump in the back of your throat when they hit and tell you “We’re in the trap now.”
