Toolroom Records have been on a roll this summer, putting out the hottest albums to cool you off and keep people dancing from Ibiza to the USA. Compilations like Miami Poolside and Ibiza 2014 have dominated the charts and mesmerized audiences as each presented an incredible selection of tracks from a wide variety of genres, introducing many listeners to the deeper sounds of dance music. Toolroom’s latest venture is Ibiza Poolside: which is simply another gem to their repertoire. It’s a fascinating blend of Electronica and deep house, seamlessly integrating that euphoric summertime feel we’ve all been longing for.
Ibiza Poolside blazes its own path apart from the Miami Poolside compilation, featuring and even wider array of artists with a more upbeat feel that electrifies your soul. It kicks off with Tensnake‘s massive collaboration with Nile Rodgers and Fiora titled “Love Sublime“, submerging you immediately into the depth of the album. Big tracks like Anoraak‘s funky rework of “Summer Is Over” along with Anothony Attalla‘s remix to Kolombo‘s smash, “Play Your Chick” really drive the albums energy.
A few songs that really stuck to me were Lee M Kelsall and Robson‘s collaboration to “Prone“, which is packed with a tight beat and punchy bass line that provided a nice compliment to the album. Also, Vanilla Ace‘s “Expansion” was entirely satisfying as he works a tribal beat to a few eery samples to provide an excellent addition to the compilation.
Ibiza Poolside is an album you want to have around all summer long, so listen below and grab your own copy on iTunes!
