Zomboy, Brillz, Cookie Monsta, and TC invaded Boston on Friday night the Outbreak Tour, bringing a mean variety of electronic music’s best styles with them – valid house, boosted trap and raucous bass.
On a Friday the 13th that featured a full moon and a major power failure at the House of Blues, Zomboy shattered superstition. The set was carried by tunes from highly influential acts like Doctor P, Destroid, Bare Noize, and even some unreleased material from Z’s upcoming album, “The Outbreak.” Never Say Die labelmates like Bar9, MUST DIE! and Eptic were thoroughly represented in the mix as well.
The UK DJ has a stage presence that definitely sets him apart – intensely commanding the crowd without sacrificing the art of live mixing. Whether the impact be shaking his hands with infectious fury as fog machines blast, or adding a hint of the next song well before it drops, Zomboy does work. His dedicated set pairs with stunning visuals not for an act, but a spectacle performance.
If you can’t wait for the next festival or simply can’t afford to travel, The Outbreak Tour is the best bang for your buck. There’s still plenty of time to catch the madness too; check out the remaining tour schedule HERE. Next stop is Akron, Ohio on Thursday!
