Melbourne “NRG” from Peep This starts the fifteenth Conspectus Chapter off with a bang. The duo’s remix of the collaborative original is just as good fun and exciting as the first version. They use some of the old sounds and add a few ingredients of their own which resulted in an absolute monster of a dance record. It’s complex with a myriad of samples that you’ll find attractive to the ear and invigorating to the body. This is how remixes should be done.
Yesterday we premiered Drezo‘s stellar remix and today we celebrate his original that made its way onto our Soundcloud this week. He takes us deep into a mesmerizing abyss of raw emotion that is eerily transmitted. You can’t help but to like this track; it’s calming, groovy and downright sexy if I do say so myself.
Looking to be crowned the kings of big room, Lumberjack and Harvel B produced a royal house original entitled “Monarch.” Think grandeur, because aside from the “big” there’s a vibe about it that makes it sound like it came straight from an epic get-together at a castle. I wouldn’t mind this opening for a newly manifested caste rave either; maybe they can start one? They certainly have the event’s anthem set and ready.
Getting back to some more chill wave stuff, we get to a remix of “Smokestacks” by Mountain of Youth. I adore this remix; seriously, it’s so dreamy I can’t get enough of it. The vocals are so on point and the level of musicality expressed in the bells gets me all types of happy. L A Y L A would be proud of this piece, but really, who wouldn’t. I’m no fortune teller, yet I know for a fact I will have this puppy on repeat throughout the weekend and probably into next week. That is, unless I am overtaken by Mountain of Youth other singles since this is my first time hearing of this US act’s stuff.
We opened with melbourne, so why not close with the same? Thanks to Audio Rock we can do that with their remix of “Tsunami.” Much better than the original, yes. Also, it’s cheaper than the original too, which helps its case. Not that it would need that, because this bouncy beat does enough on its own. I’m not sure why it’s their “Minty Mix;” all I can think of for why is because it is so fresh. The original is like a tooth that is forming a cavity and this one is like a nice shiny white chomper. Which one do you enjoy more?
