As part of the ever growing Manchester branch of producers, the emerging talent that is Andre van Reese has swiftly integrated himself towards the international scene within a few short years. Beginning in 2011 under the moniker ArKane, Andre released his first two productions under Discover Recordings and later, his pieces were featured on the highly coveted Global Trance UK and Slinky’s 16th Birthday compilations. Since then, he has been honing his skills as a producer and as a DJ, working alongside high end talents such as John O’Callaghan, Sied van Riel and Daniel Kandi. About a year ago, he changed his DJ alias to his own name and quickly released a double EP on Monster Digital entitled Satori and Ayana, which was quickly snapped up by Simon Patterson; (who often has a honed eye for potential Uplifting talent). Now, Andre has set forth on a fantastic adventure with his brilliant new single entitled Recovered, and we can honestly say that this track is easily a contender for Trance track of the year. And many artists, such as Armin van Buuren, Giuseppe Ottaviani and Manuel Le Saux completely agree with this sentiment. It was even a DJ favorite for AH.FM‘s 8th Year Anniversary Massive Celebration, which received plenty of airtime from Matt Bowdidge, Orla Feeney and Ferry Tayle. Debuted during Sean Tyas‘ set at Utrecht during the ASOT 650 celebrations, the glorious Recovered will stop you in your tracks and leave you speechless with its inspiring melodies.
Instantly, listeners are hit with a bombardment of angelic harmonies, as the combined forces of Trance and Progressive quickly seep through every single crevasse of of the mind and soul. The sound design itself is pretty remarkable considering he has only been in production for 4 years, and his core sound closely resembles that of long time Trance veteran Greg Downey. The beginning starts off with a rather peppy start as low cut basslines and crisp percussion sections push forward with a heightened sense of purpose and desire. Interestingly enough, the combination of glimmering ostinatos, flitting interludes and faint choirs are on the complete opposite spectrum of energy, yet their pretense is vital to maintain that vivid, passionate motivation of Trance. Rhythmic synth cuts and underwater grotto melodic wisps permeate the entire landscape as the fresh combination between clicking sixteenth notes and slow, smooth choir add a touch of fantastic contrast. Pulling into an impressive breaks section, the main melody starts to grow into full fruition as the glory of Trance is realized in a grand spectacle of heartfelt emotions. Finally, it confidently pulls forward into a driving, yet paired down melody that contains the perfect balance between forward driven music and humanistic incorporation. The second half of the release is when the floodgates finally open and the full might of heavenly angels and subtle high hats all condense into a moment of pure, visceral happiness.
