One of the most incredible and yet relatively smaller festival during Miami Music Week offered a new twist in the festival realm and was known as Good Times. Not only did it have the perfect name, but it featured a special lineup where most of the artists went back-to-back throughout the night. In the heart of the graffiti wasteland that is known to South Floridians as Wynwood, the laid-back youth partied in a large empty lot for two days straight. Acts like Tchami went up against guys like Mercer and supplied the crowd with infectious vibes the Wednesday and Thursday before the famed Ultra Music Festival approached. The video here will detail the two day trek with the lineup including Milo & Otis, Yogi, Anna Lunoe, Annie Mac, Amtrac, Jack Beats, Yellow Claw, Congorock, Benny Benassi, Craze, A-Trak, Brodinski, Boys Noize, Spank Rock, Chance The Rapper, Kill The Noise, Zeds Dead, What So Not, Skrillex, and a special surprise set from Chase & Status and Sub Focus. The video even features friends who didn’t play but came to join the party like Alvin Risk, David Heartbreak, and Clockwork/RL Grime to name a few.
As someone who went and attended this event both days from the moment it started until it’s fiery conclusion, I highly recommend checking out this recap video and to start hoping for a Good Times Miami: Round 2 in 2015. This is the kind of experience you will not get at most festivals, where everyone jams together in a unique way. Whether your between laying in a hammock, playing beer pong, or raging by the stage, the fun times roll out with good-mood music and super-duper energy.
