According to an article by New York Daily News, the city of New York has not actually signed the permit for EZoo to throw the festival. As of now, tickets will still go on sale April 29th. A Parks Department spokesman said [the application] — submitted last December, four months after two party-goers overdosed on the club drug “Molly” — is still “under review.”
With the confirmation of the event still hanging in the balance, EZoo seems to be fully confident the application will be approved and is proceeding accordingly. Stefan Friedman of Mercury Public Affairs, the man hired to obtain the festival permit this year, is also very optimistic the festival will return. Since Mercury Public Affairs raised over $32,000 for Mayor de Blasio’s political campaign, we are sure they will run into no issues finalizing the permits.
“We’re looking forward to putting on the safest festival this Labor Day,” said Stefan Friedman. As EZoo once again enters the spotlight this year, we will watch what unfolds with baited breath!
