Oh boy; Your EDM’s Conspectus Chapter 7 is a doozy. A handful of really killer tracks, all except one of them free, from talented artists who, for the most part, are relatively unknown. With all the chapters we have already had, this musical book is stacking up to be full of must-hear goodies. And this week is one of my favorites yet.
Chapter 7:
Two producers I hadn’t known until this point were Treyis and Thomas Crowne who created the smashing “TreyCrowne.” The single is a part of the Sixth Floor EP, from Treyis, but this song expresses the strengths of both acts tremendously. It’s funky, complex, and it will push you to your limits of what it really means to dance. Get ready to boogie.
Arkatec‘s name has been on these virtual pages before. His recurrence is deserving by way of his remix of “Waterland” by Vadim Koks. His progressive sound is iconic and invigorating; I’m quickly becoming a big fan of this project from a producer who has been around the block. Thomas Penton keeps the energy rolling out and I’d expect much more in the future! Stay tuned, because he may be back again!
Some people may be over “We No Speak Americano,” but I certainly am not; especially if it is in the form of a remix from Peep This. The house cut lends itself fully to the dancefloor with it’s bumbin’ bassline whose funky sound will get you on your feet. In downloading this gem, make sure to snag all the other jewels in their treasury!
The lone trap ranger in this chapter is Benasis who dropped his “Atomic Bomb” on our Soundcloud four days ago. The usage of gritty bass in a festival trap composition makes this too good to be true, but I tell you, it’s real. “Atomic Bomb” has the magnitude to really shake things up in the bass music game, even if Benasis only has 13K Facebook fans. It’s the music that really counts.
Bringing four-to-the-floor back into the chapter is Vince Neel‘s “Clap,” an energetic electro single who’s big sound trumps most festival anthems. If anything, this one is an anthem; it is definitely deserving of seeing its way into some upcoming sets. Maybe even at Coachella this weekend? We’ll have to wait and see.
