Thirsty Thursty Thursday

Thirsty Thursday

Is anybody else feeling especially thirsty today? Because I am. Tomorrow is Friday, but today we have Thirsty Thursty Thursday on our hands which comes with ten songs – actually, it’s more like sixteen if you follow all the links – including two music videos. If all this doesn’t satisfy your thirst, then you are just too sapless for me.

I do understand the fact not everyone will like everything on here, but I have faith you will uncover a piece of treasure or two. This musical bonanza has a lot to offer.

We’re pre-gaming with Miami Marci and Jesse Slayter, both of whom presented bangin’ freebies this week. The first is Marci’s remix of “Rough & Tender” by Louisahhh!!! & Maelstrom that, at the end of the night, you’ll want to come back to. It’s just that freakin’ tight. What else that’s tight is Jesse Slayter’s “Thick,” a bootylicious production that is too fun not to enjoy. Be sure you have your dancing shoes on.

You have those shoes on right? Because Conga Squad is about to “Bring Back Da Funk.” I tell you, there’s nothing better than a gladsomely funky house record. Taking things a different route, still with enough soul to get you moving, is a remix from our friends TBMA (The Bolivian Marching Affair) of the iconic House of Pain single “Jump Around.” Their roots in the 110 zone come full circle in 2014; I couldn’t be any happier as a long time fan of these guys.

“Shake” is the juicy result of Direktor and Trill Bill‘s work together. The hybrid freebie has the trap that you want and the bass that you need. Numan Paul‘s party dubbed “L.A.B. (Life’s A Bitch)” is where we head next because this one is poppin’ off. No Ego Records snatched this gem up from the Kilimanjaro EP; it was my favorite, therefore, it is representing the entire EP at this joint.

I’m thinking we need some glitch hop in our night; luckily, Filip Rasch is here to deliver the goods. His two track EP from High Intensity Records is just what you need to cool off. Another chiller comes to us from Gianni Blu‘s “Where Did You Go” that takes a heavy choral approach to create a memorable ambient classic. A classic that you get to keep for free!

To end the night we are going completely good vibes with uplifting singles partnered to music videos from Andres Sierra and Aya Romano. The liberating “Phoenix” that Andres tamed with The Intellexz is a progressive prize you will enjoy, especially given the symbiosis with a masterful cinematic wonder. Ending the night with plurtastic vibes to the max is the poppy single “Same Air.” It’s here to remind us to have a unitedly good time together, even if it is a little cheesy. Speaking of cheese, anybody wanna get a burger? After all we’ve ingested, I think it’s about time to eat.

Funny thing is I don’t drink that much, but everyone have a happy and safe Thirsty Thursday!

For real though, who wants to get a cheeseburger?
