A few days ago we ran a poll where we asked a question concerning a rather taboo topic in today’s EDM scene. The question was, “What Are Your Thoughts On Big Room?” and we gave you, our readers, the ability to vote on a 1 to 10 scale on how much you loved or hated big room. Well the results are finally in and we can now share with you some interesting information. Now we’re actually working on an extended feature about Big Room and its impact on our scene and will be using the poll’s results in that feature, but that being the case we still wanted to share with you what you guys thought about big room overall. So without further ado here are the results:
So as you can tell you guys either hate or love Big Room. Surprising but definitely interesting! We’ll be analyzing that data and more for our feature but we felt like you guys would be interested in seeing the results!

It’s annoying when a DJ plays an entire set of big room, then the next DJ plays another full set of it and so on.. Any DJ playing 1 particular genre at about the same BPM for their entire set is unappealing. A little big room done well is fine in moderation.
It’s totally dependent on the song. I’ve herd big room that I’ve completely went mental and lost my mind to. Then there are other songs that I’m like uhh this sucks. It’s like that with every just about every genre of music not just dance music. Still, if you hate it just don’t listen to it, and try not to be that guy who tries to ruin it for everyone else spewing bad vibes.
As i have said previously, big room isn’t the issue, unimaginative producers are. Period.
The only Bigroom track I can think of that I actually really like is LRAD. But even that is somewhat overplayed to me and I usually skip it in my playlist.
i really like how its so unpredictably awesome. the super intense buildup driving towards a minimalistic climax, feels like the music is floating above awesomeness

Hi I’m a random person who’s only been alive one lifetime. My opinion matters. If you like Big Room House fuck you, because every genra that gets mainstream and over saturated has to suck, look at the 11 commandments that God made, its number 11. Let me just repeat this brand new concept I’m introducing to the world again. If you enjoy something that happens to be popular and many people enjoy making and listening to it, you suck, most likely you should just die, because you can’t enjoy something to just enjoy it. You must critique everything in life and be overly pretentious. Fuck you for trying to happy.
There is some big room that is just awful though…those drops with no extras just one beat and a bass line…at least put some effort.
