Amersy, who dedicated his high school years to producing, began his career at just age 16 by signing with Protocol Recordings, and then Doorn Records the following year. He has since been noticed by some of the biggest names in the industry and is well on his way to the top! His latest track Oasis was released earlier in the month and is a testament to his talent. You became very serious about producing during your high school years, signing with Protocol Records at just 16; how did you know for sure this was something you wanted to pursue?
Thank you! Yeah, I’m pretty serious about my craft despite my young age and constant busyness with my studies. I was really glad and excited to release my ‘Symphonica’ remix on Protocol Records at the age of 16. I can’t get too much into details on how that all went down but it definitely was a well-earned result of my daily work for many years, my diligence and persistence.
Who is your role model or inspiration within the industry?
To me there are a lot of great artists in the EDM industry that inspire me, that I think of as my teachers; I admire their art and looking at it with thrill. My biggest influences are Hardwell, Nicky Romero, and Hard Rock Sofa. But, the list goes on and on actually.
Outside of the industry?
I’ve been a fan of will.i.am and Depeche Mode for a long time.
Your new track Oasis just came out March 10. What was your inspiration to create Oasis? Why did you choose the name “Oasis”?
My ‘Oasis’ is a result of my long hard work. This track came up as natural and logical follow-up to all my previous work. Why Oasis? Just some sort of association that I had with this track!
What is your dream city to perform in? Why?
I’d love to visit all the beautiful places on Earth and decide for myself which of them will be the ones I’ll dream of coming back to again and again.
Dream festival to play at? Why?
I want to play Tomorrowland, Ultra, Coachella and, of course, the Sensation because in my opinion these are the most significant and influential events of the modern EDM industry. It’s where the leaders perform, where the hits are born and the stars come up.
Is there anyone in particular you hope to collaborate with in the future?
Yeah, absolutely. I already work with some well-known DJs and I’m planning on actively increasing the circle of my collaborators. Names and details will be announced really soon.
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Ha-ha. I’m actually unpretentious when it comes to food and don’t really care about that much. All I think about is music and I don’t even remember what I had for dinner.
What can we expect from Amersy in the near future? Where do you see yourself a year from now?
I’m going to finally graduate later on this year so I’ll have much more time for music and producing. I want to create a lot of great music for my listeners around the globe and to play it from all the best stages.
