Never Say Die Records – Black Label Vol.1 EP

artworks-000071201320-90erjz-t500x500

Never Say Die Records strikes again with a quadruple dose of hard bass, featuring Trampa, Bar9, Megalodon & D-Jahsta, and Bukez Finezt & JAM PRD.

Trampa’s “Gas Tank” is a crude and low-pitched intro to the new NSD tape. The tune flows hard with no sound clutter, comparable to Trolley Snatcha classics like “Make My Whole World.” Despite its namesake, Gas Tank is pretty subdued compared to the rest of Black Label‘s offerings, but it shows lots of ability from the up-and-comer.

The legendary BAR9 is up next with “NEXUS6,” a dehumanizing headbanger that fuses huge bass with cosmic synth to perfection. (and pays homage to Bladerunner!) We’ve come to expect top shelf production and effort from the veteran UK DJ, and this could be his best yet. Simply put, BAR9 makes it sound easy. Maybe we’re just too conditioned to his master portfolio.

Megalodon & D-Jahsta collaborate on “Demon,” another mysterious, cosmic banger. The relentless pace drives this minimal dubstep tune, very much like the work of AFK. This serene beat is best pumped through a nice set of headphones! Creepy and brilliant.

LZRZ by Bukez Finezt & JAM PRD is the super curious conclusion to Never Say Die’s best sampler yet. An alien abduction of an intro continues the theme of galactic bass present throughout, and goodness, it is strange. The duo’s production bears similarity to The Widdler‘s classic ‘darkstep’ sound, but establishes itself thoroughly in a class all it’s own. The dog bark beat fills are hilarious and well executed.

Listen to “Black Label” below! Yet another solid, cutting edge release from Never Say Die and a variety of talented bass freaks.
