There are more ‘Daft Punk collaborations’ floating out there than you can imagine. In fact, they probably outnumber the duo’s discography. This time around however, it’s for real.
And it’s pretty damn good.
It features one of Daft Punk’s most beautiful synth riffs yet, and it evokes memories of the arpeggiated wonder of Kraftwerk or Tangerine Dream. Pitchfork have speculated that it was probably made before the Samsung-sponsored days of Magna Carta Holy Grail: “Start macking on my BlackBerry,” Jay raps, “She got jealous/ I was tapping on my BlackBerry.”
Kanye West, although it was speculated, was not involved.
