One of the biggest icons in the expansion of electronic dance music is the United Kingdom’s Norman Cook, better known as Fatboy Slim. From songs like “The Rockefeller Skank” to “Weapon of Choice”, Norman has been an essential piece to making the modern age of dance music peak as it has. Last year, his single with Riva Starr “Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat” not only charted highly with positive critical acclaim, but it spawned a whole new miniature-revolution to the rave culture of music festivals.
His success and talent may be well known, but did you know that Fatboy Slim is a huge fan of both soccer and Brazil? Well, it appears that now his biggest dream has come true as he is set to deliver a soundtrack for one of the biggest events in the world for the summer season. It will be entitled Fatboy Slim Presents: Bem Brazil which translates to “Very Brazil” more or less. This will include tracks inspired by Brazilian classics like Felguk‘s take on “Taj Mahal” by Jorge Ben Jor and DJ Fresh‘s spin on “Magdalena” by Sergio Mendes as well as appearances from Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Gregor Salto, Carl Cox, & Joey Negro.
It will be a few months before the biggest international tournament sets off in Brazil, but at least we have a teaser of what to expect from the biggest party DJ in the world. Check out the video below and make sure to leave a comment on what you think on Fatboy Slim’s latest project (NOTE: it could include some new material from the Fatboy himself).
