Spotify announced that Avicii‘s “Wake Me Up” is the most-played song of all time on the music streaming service, reaching over 200 million streams today and surpassing Imagine Dragon’s “Radioactive,” which has gotten 182 million streams. The track had already shown promise of its popularity last year in September when it became the fastest song to hit 100 million streams on Spotify.

“I’m so excited to be the first artist to reach 200 million streams on Spotify. I’ve had an amazing year, so a massive thanks to all of my fans!” exclaims Avicii.

“Wake Me Up” first made its debut during Avicii’s controversial set last year at Ultra and became a surprise hit, earning a top position in 19 countries worldwide and continues to make headlines nearly a year later. “It’s amazing to see the journey… it was a huge surprise to everyone,” commented Avicii. Currently, the top cities where the track is most streams include Stockholm, Oslo, Gothenburg, London, New York, Madrid, Malmö, Barcelona, Copenhagen and Los Angeles.
