X5IGHT, the Chicago duo consisting of Brandon and Jerry, has become more and more well known for their contributions to the progressive house and electro scene. With well produced remixes of names like Adventure Club, Travis Porter, James Egbert, Katy Perry, and many more, their ability to stay in touch with mainstream pop and hip/hop music only helps to build their audience.
This particular adaptation of Tegan & Sara‘s hit Closer is introduced with a strong, classic piano melody that builds seamlessly into several overlaid synth-patterns. The vocal placement is impeccable, with intricate vocal chops mixed into the drop creatively, and perfectly in tune with the euphoric progression. This remix only continues to impress as the second build-ip keeps the party going with catchy melodies and a beautifully constructed riser that closes out the track in excellent fashion.
