Maybe you’ve heard the hype about Resistance, but now the anxiously awaited debut release from the electro-duo phenom that Skism proclaimed to be an artist to watch in 2014 has finally arrived. “The Beginning EP” sets the path to EDM superstardom with four loud house anthems, including a heavy remix from Bar9. Together, these tracks compile the condensed soundtrack of an enthralling live set – their energy never lets up, and the vibe is approached from multiple angles. It’s rather easy to detect Knife Party‘s influence in much of today’s electro-house music (and it’s definitely present here), but Resistance is keen in blending unique melodies throughout a BPM pattern much of us are used to already.
While “Hands Up!” and “Danger” compliment each other perfectly as deep house bangers, the titular track entices through its keyboard build up and never lets go. The Resistance guys possess every last bit of potential that Never Say Die Records invested in early on; they are now and forever recognizable as the prodigal sons of house, and The Beginning succeeds in fully encompassing their sound and building focus on the future. Big, big things to come.
