Apparently EDM really is taking over if Coldplay is now embracing it. Without warning, the British rock band released their new track Midnight on Tuesday. What sets this track apart from their usual sound, though, is its take on a more ambient electronic sound.
The London-based Jon Hopkins, who has worked with artists such as Imogen Heap and Bryan Eno, produced the calming and awe-inspiring Midnight. This isn’t the first time Coldplay has joined forces with Jon Hopkins however; the producer has also worked with the band on their past two albums, Viva La Vida in 2008 and Mylo Xyloto in 2011.
As for Coldplay‘s future albums, it will be interesting to see just how much electronic elements will be exhibited.
