Every time Australia’s Just A Gent releases a track we go through a wave of emotions. First, we get really excited to hear it, then we get nearly drawn to tears by the elegance and beauty of his music, and finally we get baffled by how difficult it is to classify his unique sound.
The latest from this incredibly talented 16 year old producer is a remix of the infectiously catchy indie-pop track “Best Day of My Life” by American Authors. Although a simple Lowe’s commercial stripped away any appeal we had for the original, the Just A Gent’s remix breathes new life into an already over played track.
His style is self described as “love step,” but this one has a slightly different feel. The “Best Day of My Life” remix comes in at 100bpm and has an indie electro disco hop vibe that is going to have to settle into it’s own genre for now.
