After the successful release of their acoustic album and accompanying video, Tony and Paavo of Above & Beyond recently took to Reddit to answer fan questions through an AMA. While they were not able to answer every post, their responses revealed insightful thoughts on the music industry and reinforced all the reasons why fans love this amazing trio!
Many questions centered on issues within the EDM community and the music industry as a whole. In one answer, the group discussed the commercialism of EDM and its effect on future musical exploration.
In response to another question, they addressed the issue of ghost-producing, which has been an especially hot topic in the last few weeks.
Tony and Paavo also spoke about music piracy, presenting two thought-provoking points about the subject.
While answering one question, A&B gave possibly the best retort to EDM naysayers who claim that electronic music “isn’t music.”
Tony and Paavo also gave some great life advice regarding the tendency to attempt to record unforgettable events (such as concerts) rather than stopping to experience them in the moment.
To see the full AMA, head on over to Reddit. If you haven’t yet had a chance, be sure to check out the new acoustic album available on iTunes and watch the accompanying video here.
