On January 20, 2014, the Bareback Titty Squad graced the internet’s presence with their video of the world’s first live-instrumental DJ set. While donning little clothing, fitting to their name, the band rocked out to their versions of hit songs produced by those on DJ Mag’s 2013 Top 100 DJ list. Although some of the tracks are older, Bareback Titty Squad manages to incorporate a song from every single DJ on the 2013 list, which includes favorites like Major Lazer‘s Bubble Butt, Above & Beyond’s Thing Called Love, and Swedish House Mafia‘s Don’t You Worry Child.
With bonus points for their creativity (really, did you catch that deadmau5 reference?), the band is actually extremely talented and their set was surprisingly pretty good..and also hilarious.
I wouldn’t call it worlds first Live instruments DJ-set, things like this have been made several times before, take a look at Pinn Panelle for example. And there are also several electronic acts that incorporate live instruments as well as DJ techniques to create their sets, such as Goldfish and SBTRKT. I must however say that this is pretty hillarious.
