In 1980 Japanese manufacturer of electronic instruments, Roland, released the TR-808 drum sequencer and in doing so planted the seeds for EDM, hip hop, and pop music for the next 34 years. Decades later, Roland has announced that they will be upgrading the classic instrument by launching the Aria TR-808.
Specifications of the drum machine have not been released, but you can check out a teaser video below featuring engineers in Japan talking about “the evolution of the Roland TR-808.”
