It is apparent that the redundant trap sounds of 2013 have ran their course, and when LA’s gLAdiator looks to break the mold, they do it in a big way. Their latest track “Ain’t It” is driven by a glitched out 8-bit melody, a plethora of off the grid percussion samples, and it is all tied together by a demonic vocal stating, “it’s what ya’ll all been waiting’ for…ain’t it?” This number is a step into tomorrow for some of those that expect trap to be 808 + snare roll + laser sounds and the infamous “run the track” sample.
