On Friday, a short clip of Spinnin’ Records‘ latest release, entitled “Balkan,” was previewed on their YouTube channel. An artist has not been linked to the clip, although it is noted that it will be released on Tiesto‘s Musical Freedom Records.
The track starts off with an ethnic South Eastern European trumpet loop, accompanied by appropriate percussion, and gets built up by lasers and a commonly used “are you ready” vocal sample. It then breaks into a big room house drop with an obese kick drum and plucks that sounds like birds chirping…or seizing? We still haven’t decided.
After the launch, Spinnin’ fans took to social media with an onslaught of negative criticism.
did anybody listened the preview of Balkan? I think it’s worst release on @musicalfreedom, They need to work more on the track.

As of now, the preview has received a majority of “dislikes” on YouTube, although a couple of familiar faces went to bat for the clip.
Dude that new Balkan tune on @SpinninRecords is driving me crazy. I am so in awe of what that gem is going to do to current house music OMG! — Ookay (@Ookayx) January 12, 2014
@Ookayx Balkan is so good — CARNAGE (@djcarnage) January 12, 2014

We don’t anticipate that this one will be going away any time soon, so let us know what you think of “Balkan,” and make sure to tell us who you think produced it.
Sounds like spanish house with the trumpet. It could use some work, but the remixes of this track will be insane for sure
Dj Shone produced it I’m sure!

what the fuck is this shit
what the fuck is this shit

The fact that shit like this is getting signed to musical freedom makes me wanna give up music. Theres so much more talent out there than this shit.
Its greek music lol
Oh man, I’m featured in this post, hahha, thank u 😀 drop the balkan now! lol
This just goes to show how versatile EDM is and how, when produced in the right way, can enhance most any genre. Balkan grew on me for sure.
They got idea from a bootleg

Balkan is shit period.
Music is something Pleasant to the Ears. And This is not !! Not liking it One Bit
We need a biblical style explosion or flood for current EDM music and/or artists. This shit needs to start over. This is the worst song (if you can even call it that) I’ve ever heard in my entire life. This formula of build-up with random phrase + drop with random phrase into generic bass line (that EVERYONE is using) + some fucking retarded ass fake instrument noise HAS GOT TO STOP NOW!!
Eh it’s dancey, but it’s fucking animals with brass lol do something different
I respect this! Trying ‘big room’ a bit differently. Sure, a lot of people don’t like this, but I find it kind of interesting compared to most generic beats getting thrown around lately.
Almost as shitty as flute
WHAT. THE. FUCK. Sad thing is everyone will be going crazy for this piece of shit.
WAAAAAAAYYYYY TO MANYYY TRIPPELETSSSSSSS!!!!
I hate it… But the best Balkan tracks ive heard are Flonko and Valodja by Steve Angello
It’s different enough for me to dig it. No complaints.
