Ministry of Sound To Remain Open After Threats of Closure

ministryofsoundtobeshutdown-youredm

Recently, we had reported that the legendary Ministry of Sound faced threats of closure. A proposed housing development, built near by would result in complaints of noise pollution, which unfortunately meant bad news for the club.

To ensure the club’s safety, even an intervention from Mayor Boris Johnson was called upon.

However, the venue has reached an agreement were not only will it remain open but it can also maintain current sound levels. Residents of the soon to be built Eileen House, will be protected by high level acoustic protection.

Lohan Presencer, chief executive of Ministry of Sound Group, said:

“We are pleased to have reached an agreement with Englewood Ltd that safeguards our future while allowing new development in Southwark.

This is fantastic news which ends a worrying saga for those involved with the venue but also makes it a no-brainer for anyone searching for new digs.
